We ain't afraid of no ghosts!
We hope you had a good festive season though we suspect that, given that most of you work in the NHS, you've all been hard at it right through the holidays, coping with the kinds of problems that have been all over the news.
All we can say is well done, and that we've been working hard too to bring you a service that can support you in the important jobs that you're doing.
Or problem hasn't been beds or winter flu... it's been ghosts. That's right. Towards the end of last year, the Hospify app developed a problem with ghosts. Ghost notifications to be precise. Many of you had spotted them, especially when you were using group messaging. They took the form of alerts on your phones saying there were new messages waiting, but when you opened the app there were no new messages to be seen.
And, to be honest, downright annoying.
Well, you'll be pleased to hear that our ghost-busting dev team pulled some long hours between Christmas and New Year to get to the bottom of this, and eventually found the poltergeists that had been lurking in the basement and causing all the trouble. Said poltergeists have now been exorcised, and we very much think that ghost notifications will be no more than a festive memory from now on.
The incantations are in a major new release to the app which you will see in the app stores in the next couple of days. Please update to this new version (1.3.9) as quickly as possible, if it doesn't happen automatically (you can look in the About section under the app's Settings tab to find out which version you're using). You'll know it when it arrives as the first of our design changes are in there too - including some fancy new splash screens, colours and icons. Not only will it rid you of those pesky ghosts, but it will also bring you a whole bunch of engineering updates that make the app faster and more robust than ever.
We wanted to get all these things in place to pave the way for picture messaging, which is nearly at the end of its test cycle and should be with you very shortly. We'll keep you posted about that, but it won't be long now...
In the meantime, let me wish you all the very best for 2018 (the year that the GDPR regulation finally hits these shores, as I'm sure that you know).
And share safely!
