Meet the Team!

Founded by two surgeons and a technology journalist, Hospify's mission is to give healthcare workers and patients throughout the UK and Europe a reliable, industry-wide, legislatively compliant and data secure text and picture messaging app that they can use as an alternative to the frustrating plethora of partial, local channels that they currently have to rely on.

Social Mission

Hospify has a defined "tech for good" social mission that is enshrined in our agreement with our first investors, Bethnal Green Ventures. By building and maintaining a very low cost service that can improve communication and data compliance in health, not just for a few select doctors, but for everyone including nurses, administrators, support workers and patients themselves, we hope to have a positive impact on the entire healthcare industry by lowering IT costs for hospitals, lowering the risk of data breaches and fines, and speeding up and improving communication around patient care.

On top of that, Hospify intends to give 5% of its annual profits to charity. As our community grows we plan to ask you, our users, to vote for a selection of charities each year via the app. That's for the future, but for now we've got the ball rolling by becoming a founder member of the Cavell Nurses Trust "Working With" initiative

Cavell Nurses’ Trust supports UK nurses, midwives and HCAs both working and retired when they’re suffering personal or financial hardship, often due to illness, disability, older age and domestic abuse. The impact this charity - which is around a century old - has on the lives of nursing professionals is remarkable and is the reason we’re getting involved.

Of the people Cavell Nurses’ Trust helped in the last year:

  • 96% said the support positively affected their mental health
  • 88% said the support they received positively affected their physical health
  • 83% said the support they received helped them get back to, or stay in, work

"Working with" fits squarely with our Hospify's values. Nurses, midwives and HCAs form the majority of Hospify's users and are there for us when we need them the most. Hospify believes the least we can do is be there for them in return, and backing Cavell Nurses’ Trust is great way for us to do that.

Hospify's support comes at an important time. Recent research from Cavell Nurses’ Trust revealed that nursing professionals are twice as likely as the public to suffer financial hardship. Worryingly, they are also three times as likely to suffer domestic abuse. Since launching this research the charity has seen a significant increase in requests for help with almost 2,000 people asking for help in 2016, an increase of 36% on the previous year. If you'd like to find out more, or encourage your own organisation to join the programme, please visit the Working With website.
